Statement of Intent

Take Care – We believe that physical education - experienced in a safe and supportive environment - is vital and unique in its contribution to a pupil’s physical and emotional development and health.

Be reflective – We want to equip our children with the knowledge, skills and vocabulary that develop competence and confidence in a wide range of physical activities.

Challenge myself – We want our children to seek to develop and excel in competitive sports and other physical activities that challenge them and supports their health and fitness.

Imagine – to perform physical activities that help to build character and imagination.

Be kind and respectful – to understand about what it is to lead a healthy and active life and help others around them achieve this too. Through physical education, help to embed values such as fairness, kindness and respect.

Be Responsible – We aim to provide for pupils’ increasing selfconfidence through an ability for them to manage themselves successfully in a variety of situations and to be responsible to pursue additional hobbies and interests (e.g. swimming and biking), To promote correct choices regarding how to lead a healthy lifestyle.
